Messages when saving a sync

What each message means when SYNCDATE won't save, start, resume or delete a sync, and what to do next.

Last updated

When you save, start, resume or delete a sync, SYNCDATE checks it first. If a check fails, nothing is changed and you see one of these messages. Most are quick to fix. Where only support can help, the entry says what to send: the sync's name and the address you sign in with, to support@syncdate.app.

These calendars are already synced together

"These calendars are already synced together. Select different calendars or edit the existing sync." Another sync already links the same calendars. Edit that sync or pick different calendars. See what counts as a calendar, a sync and an account.

This change goes beyond your current plan's limits

Your plan doesn't have room for what you tried to save. You may also see "This sync is over your plan's limit." See plan-limit messages.

This change would delete synced events

"This change would delete synced events. Confirm the impact before saving." Your edit removes copies that already exist. Read the impact summary and confirm if that is what you want.

This sync was just changed by another action

"This sync was just changed by another action. Reload and try again." Reload the page and make the change again.

This sync changed since you opened it

"This sync changed since you opened it — reloading." Or: "This sync was just changed somewhere else. Showing the latest version; please redo your change." Someone, or another tab, saved first. Look at the latest version and redo your change.

This sync is busy finishing another change

"This sync is busy finishing another change. Wait a moment and try again." Nothing to fix. Try again shortly.

One of the connected accounts needs to be reconnected

"One of the connected accounts needs to be reconnected before this sync can run." Reconnect the account, then save again. See Re-authorization needed.

We couldn't confirm your access level for one of these calendars

"Reconnect the account and try again." SYNCDATE can't tell whether you can edit the calendar. Reconnect the account and save again.

One of these calendars is read-only

"One of these calendars is read-only, so it can't be part of a two-way sync." Use one-way sync from it, or get edit access to the calendar. See what SYNCDATE decides on its own.

This calendar is read-only, so it can only be a source

"This calendar is read-only, so it can only be a source — not a sync target." Make it the source, or choose another target.

A calendar in this sync can't be found

Remove it from the sync or choose another.

You can't remove the last calendar from a sync

"You can't remove the last calendar from a sync. Delete the sync instead."

Your Team's rules don't allow this

"Your Team's rules don't allow this. Check the choices that are turned off, then try again." See why a Team rule limits my sync.

We couldn't check your Team's rules just now

"We couldn't check your Team's rules just now, so nothing was changed. Try again in a moment." It clears by itself. See why a Team rule limits my sync.

Please enter a name for this sync

Type a name in the name field and save again.

An account changed since this page opened

Reload the page and make the change again.

Looks like that sync was just created

"Looks like that sync was just created. Refresh the page to see it." Or: "This sync was already created." It was saved the first time. Refresh and you will see it.

We could not confirm the Google calendar has the access this sync needs

"Check its sharing and try Resume again." The Google calendar shares busy times only. Ask its owner for the access the sync needs, then press Resume. See Paused — source calendar access needed.

No connection

"No connection. We couldn't confirm it went through. Check your connection and press Start sync again." The wording ends "Save changes again." when you were editing. Check your connection, then look at the sync before pressing the button again: the change may already have gone through.

Couldn't reach the server

"Couldn't reach the server. Check your connection and try again."

Something went wrong

"Something went wrong — your calendars were not changed." or "Something went wrong. Please try again." Try again. If it repeats, contact support.

This sync is finishing its move to our new sync engine

"It will start again on its own — nothing to do." You can't resume it yet. It restarts without you.

Your account is being deleted

"Your account is being deleted, so this sync can't be turned back on." Contact support if you didn't mean to delete your account.

This sync can't continue after our sync engine upgrade

"Please contact support and we'll remove it for you." You can't fix it. Email support with the sync's name and we will remove it.

This sync needs help from support

"This sync needs help from support before it can continue. Please contact support@syncdate.app." You can't fix it. Send the sync's name.

Nothing was deleted. This sync can't remove its copied events itself

To have the copies removed, email support from the address you sign in with and name the sync, before you delete it.
