One mirror across three or more accounts

Last updated
Three or more calendars that all show each other — as a single sync, not a chain of pairs.
Works on: Plus for 3 calendars, Pro for 5.
When this is for you
You have three accounts and want every calendar to know about the others.
Before you turn it on
- Add all the calendars to ONE sync. Building it as separate pairs through a central calendar does not work: a copy is not re-copied onward, so the outer calendars never see each other.
- Every calendar in the mirror can write to every other one. If one of them is read-only, it can only be a source.
- A source event marked Free stays Free in its copies. Check the destination's free/busy state before relying on the mirror to show colleagues you are unavailable.
How it works
One sync, with all the calendars in it. You add them together on the same screen instead of building a sync per pair. Plus covers three or four calendars; five needs Pro. To check you got the shape right, put a test event on the calendar you use least. It should turn up on every other one. If it reaches only one, the sync was built as pairs.
What you'll pick
- The calendars to mirror (3–5 calendars; sends and receives): Pick all of them at once — three to five, one sync.
Setting it up
- Pick all the calendars at once, three to five, in one sync.
- Check that none of them is read-only. A read-only calendar can only be a source, not part of a mirror.
- Leave the title on "Busy" unless every calendar in the mirror is yours alone.
- Check it worked: add one test event on each calendar in turn. It should appear on every other calendar, with the free or busy state you expect.
Variations
You can add these to this sync at any time, without starting over.
Sync everything except all-day events
Add an "All-day events" exclude rule and holidays, birthdays and travel banners stay out of the calendar you sync into. It also catches birthdays from a subscribed calendar, which "Special dates from contacts" cannot — those arrive as ordinary events, so only the all-day rule sees them.
Only invitations you've accepted
Set "Invitations" to "Only yes" and meeting requests you haven't answered stay out of the calendar you sync into until you accept them.

What SYNCDATE can't do
The limits no plan removes: syncs don't chain, special event types are Google-only, feeds are read-only, and colour is approximate between providers.
Several client calendars → one hub
Bring two to eight client calendars into one hub you check. One-way, so no time is blocked back on the client calendars.
Big meetings always block your time
Meetings with ten or more guests copy as Busy, even when you marked them Free. The rule is already written. You pick the calendars. Needs Plus.
