iCloud ↔ Google, both directions
Start with this recipeAdd an event on your iPhone or your laptop and it shows up on the other, with its real title and location. Works on the Free plan with two calendars.
Last updated
Book something on your phone and it is on your laptop, with its real title and location — and the other way round.
Works on: Free.
When this is for you
Your phone writes to iCloud and your laptop writes to Google, and you're tired of typing everything twice.
Before you turn it on
- Guests are not copied, so a copy will not show who else is coming and will not send invitations.
- Reminders are switched off on copies so you don't get every alert twice.
How it works
Both calendars send and both receive, so it stops mattering which device you booked something on. Edit an event on either side and the other is updated to match; if you edited both before they met, the more recent change is the one that survives. Your iCloud side can be an Apple account, Fastmail, or any other CalDAV server. The setup is the same for each.
What you'll pick
- Your iCloud calendar (1 calendar; sends and receives): Connected through Apple, Fastmail, or any CalDAV account.
- Your Google calendar (1 calendar; sends and receives): The Google account you want kept in step.
Setting it up
- Connect your iCloud calendar through Apple, Fastmail, or another CalDAV account.
- Connect the Google account you want kept in step.
- Choose "Original" for the title and set Reminders to "Off".
- Check it worked: add one test event on each calendar. Each copy should show the same title, location and time on the other side.
Variations
You can add these to this sync at any time, without starting over.
Sync everything except all-day events
Add an "All-day events" exclude rule and holidays, birthdays and travel banners stay out of the calendar you sync into. It also catches birthdays from a subscribed calendar, which "Special dates from contacts" cannot — those arrive as ordinary events, so only the all-day rule sees them.
Only invitations you've accepted
Set "Invitations" to "Only yes" and meeting requests you haven't answered stay out of the calendar you sync into until you accept them.

Duplicate reminders on synced events
Choose reminder behavior for copies, identify which event sent each alert, and check existing copies before changing calendar-wide settings.
Mirror or Push: which one do you need
Push feeds one calendar from another and never touches the source. Mirror goes both ways. How to choose, and what switching later deletes.
Outlook ↔ Google, both directions
Book in Outlook or Google and the other one agrees, with real titles and locations. Works with Microsoft 365 and Outlook.com. Works on the Free plan.
Work ↔ Personal, detail one way only
Keep work and personal calendars in step both ways: work shows Busy, your personal calendar keeps the full details. Needs Pro for the per-calendar settings.
